About Us

Owner/operator Doug Wilson formed Northern Rural Haulage in 2009 when he saw a need for a Northland-wide rural haulage service. Set up to supply farms and construction with the materials they need, when they need it, we’ve based our company on first rate customer service.

Since then, the word spread about our great customer service and reliability, and we’ve expanded to include rural haulage runs as far south as the Waikato and Tauranga.

Doug is born and bred in Northland and has over 40 years’ experience in the bulk cartage industry. He has built up a comprehensive network within the industry and other related industries, so if we don’t have the truck to tackle your job, Doug will know someone who does.

Our goal

For the team at Northern Rural Haulage, we pride ourselves on excellent customer service. We know that when our customers say they need something delivered, then they need it promptly.

Dealing with farmers and builders, time is often of the essence. It’s important to us that our customers know when they order supplies or materials to be delivered on a certain day, we deliver.

Our people

We’re a strong team of 13 people, all hard-working and dedicated to our jobs. Much of our orders are time sensitive, and we pride ourselves on being able to respond to last-minute jobs.

We take Health & Safety seriously, and we value our staff, so we ensure that all our drivers are fully trained and take regular breaks, especially on long-haul runs.
